Mary-Anne,
These are lovely. I cannot tell from the picture - how big are they? As the name implies, do they grow densely and low to the ground? Roses do well here in spring and summer (and acid ph, if I recall). I grew up in a house that my mother surrounded with roses, but have never planted my own. I like the softness in the way they flower. Again, a beautiful picture.

Lin they cover a area like a circle of about 5-6 ft my Pink Bassino is the one with the longest arms and legs followed by the Red Bassino which could be named Royal in the US not red..

My rosy carpet has a larger cluster on the end of each cane so do the two bassino's I reckon the Seafoam would have the least flowers on a cluster there are lots more out there all different colours.

In my Gallery look in the Roses folder there is a pic of Our rosy carpet one cluster fills a vase.. I find roses grow well in most soils but they say pH of 6.5 is ideal its just a tad below neutral. I do know they prefer my clay type soil much better to the sandy soil in the West of Australia.

Hope this helps ...Mary-Anne

I forgot to say yes they do grow close to the ground I would not say densely as enough to suppress weeds but can arch up to about a foot when the canes are long.. They grow a bit like a octopus all arms and legs.. :D
